Vinh University awarded its first honorary doctorate to an individual

Dr. Cao Long Van (born in 1952) is the author and co-author of over 100 international scientific works in Physics and is the co-developer of the formalism of applying random processes to Quantum Optics in the 80s of the last century. He is also the author of the book series General Physics and many monographs in English and Vietnamese.

Previously, in 1979, he completed his doctoral thesis and was awarded a Doctor of Science in 1986, and was awarded a professorship by Zielone Gora University (Poland) in 1999.

At Vinh University, for nearly 30 years, Professor Cao Long Van has also made many positive contributions. In particular, he has spent a lot of time helping lecturers and students of the school to carry out research topics and invited over 30 famous scientists of the world to come and give lectures directly to the staff and students of the school.

Over the years, the professor has also introduced and found scholarships for nearly 40 staff, students, and trainees of the school to study, research, and exchange academic knowledge with Poland. In the field of Optics, Professor Cao Van Long has also introduced many new research directions and the school has now formed two strong research groups on crystal photonic fibers and atomic resonance environments in both theoretical and experimental aspects.

With these positive contributions, speaking at the award ceremony, Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa - Principal of the school expressed his gratitude to Professor Cao Long Van. At the same time, he affirmed that the efforts of the professor have created the success of many generations of his students in Vietnam and Poland and have contributed significantly to helping Vinh University develop and mature as it is today.

This is also the first time Vinh University has awarded an Honorary Doctorate to an individual, a well-deserved title that Professor Cao Long Van has contributed to the school over the years.
