(Baonghean) - In the summer of 1965, while the resistance war against the US was taking place fiercely, Hung Nguyen High School (formerly Le Hong Phong High School) was separated from Huynh Thuc Khang High School and was officially established.

50 years of construction and growth, overcoming difficulties and challenges, the school has steadily grown worthy.

Hung Nguyen High School - Le Hong Phong High School was born on a land rich in patriotism and revolutionary tradition, giving birth to and nurturing many talents. That has contributed significantly to building the tradition of "Solidarity, overcoming difficulties to teach well - study well, and being attached to the local people". Many generations of students were born from a poor land but with a passion for learning and always aspired to rise up. Many teachers, despite their busy lives, are still devoted to their lesson plans, struggling to innovate content and teaching methods, ferrying generations of students across the river. During the war, the school moved and evacuated four times: The school was established in Hung Tan, evacuated to Nghia Dan; in 1973, the school moved from Tay Hieu back to Hung Tan and settled in Tu field, Hung Thong commune. In 1975, the school was renamed after Le Hong Phong - General Secretary of the Party.

50 years have passed, the activities to pay tribute to the martyrs, teacher Nguyen Tien Bo and 95 students of the school who put down their pens and went to the battlefield to fight and heroically sacrificed; to those who left a part of their blood and bones on the battlefield for today's peaceful life have received special attention from the school's staff, teachers and students. At the same time, the silent contributions and sacrifices of generations of teachers, students and parents who have contributed to the development of the school are respected.

Over the past 50 years, the school has received close guidance and attention from leaders at all levels, departments and branches for the development of the school. Especially the attention of leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, Department of Education, District People's Committee, Hung Tan Commune People's Committee, Hung Thong Commune People's Committee in directing and helping the school in the process of establishment, construction and development. In particular, it was a proud honor in 1978 that the school welcomed the Minister of Education Nguyen Thi Binh to visit and was highly appreciated by the Minister for the efforts of the teachers and students of the school.

Generations of teachers, staff and workers of the school are always dedicated to their beloved students, united and attached to the cause of education and training, following Uncle Ho's advice: "No matter how difficult it is, we must compete to teach well and study well". The school has trained fifty generations of local children to become workers with basic cultural and social knowledge, providing the country with more than 21,000 high school graduates, with about 7,000 students with university, college and vocational degrees working in the fields of science and technology, state management, economic construction management, culture and society. A beautiful feature that has become a very valuable tradition of Hung Nguyen High School - Le Hong Phong High School is to create an environment of order, discipline and responsibility. Generations of students, although different in working environment and living conditions, always look towards the school, teachers and friends. In many provinces and cities across the country, the "Alumni Association of Hung Nguyen High School - Le Hong Phong High School" has been established. In the meetings of the school, the teachers and students have shown their good and respectful feelings for the school where they taught, studied, trained and grew up. Recently, in response to the need for comprehensive and synchronous innovation in the education and training sector, Le Hong Phong High School has determined its immediate goal to successfully build a national standard school. With the support of authorities at all levels, the Department of Education and Training, and the consensus of parents, the school's Board of Directors has boldly proposed strategic breakthrough policies and strategies.
