Immediately after posting, netizens commented indignantly on the killing of wild animals by “Ha Ngoc”. Many people also expressed their strong, indignant attitudes, demanding that authorities intervene to deal with this barbaric act.
Ms. Ngoc Anh commented: “Looking at the little cat, being grabbed by the neck to take a photo and then roasted, is very pitiful. This species has been listed in the Red Book and needs to be preserved. Our people are not aware, and if they kill them carelessly like this, the next generation will definitely not know what wild cats are like. I hope the authorities will find and punish these people as a deterrent.”
Sharing the same view, Facebooker Van Dong was indignant: “So many cases of killing wild animals have been handled, but the subjects are still not afraid. There needs to be stronger sanctions to protect these rare animals. I wonder if we will see this species again in a few years.”

After catching the wild cat, the subjects killed it. |
Mr. Tran Quang Phuong (Center for Conservation of Pangolins and Small Carnivores) said: “Wildcats are rare animals belonging to group 1B (endangered group) that need to be preserved. The actions of the subjects have violated the law. In this case, if the killer is identified, they can be fined from 500 million VND to 2 billion VND or imprisoned from 1 to 5 years”.
Mr. Phuong added that the wild cat is a rare animal, being preserved in the wild by the WWF. The wild cat has the same shape and physique as a domesticated cat, with a light yellow color, dark brown stripes and spots. The wild cat only gives birth to one litter per year.
