(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 18, the 14th day of the first lunar month of the year of the Pig, at the tomb of King Mai Hac De in Van Dien commune, the People's Committee of Nam Dan district solemnly held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate King Mai, opening the 2019 King Mai Temple Festival.

The Mai King Temple Festival is held annually to commemorate the merits of King Mai and his army. At the same time, it recalls the heroic spirit and indomitable spirit of the Hoan Chau uprising in the 8th century; educates the tradition of patriotism, arouses national pride and self-esteem among the people, and contributes to introducing and promoting the people and land of Nam Dan, a "spiritual land of talented people".

After the grand ceremony at King Mai's temple in Lam Son block, Sa Nam town, four processions of gods from Van Dien, Nam Thai, Nam Thuong communes and the town headed to King Mai's tomb in Van Dien commune.

The procession of the gods is an important highlight in the Mai King Temple Festival.
