Cua Lo Town: Started building a solidarity house for poor parishioners, visited households affected by fire
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 15, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cua Lo town held a groundbreaking ceremony to build a solidarity house for Mr. Nguyen Van Tai - a young Catholic with difficult circumstances at Yen Trach parish, block 4, Thu Thuy ward.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tai (born in 1996), is a young Catholic who lost both his parents at an early age, and his older sister married far away. For many years, he has lived alone in a makeshift house that is damaged and leaky during the rainy season. Tai's health is unstable, he is often sick, his cognition is slow, and he currently has no permanent job to stabilize his finances and take care of himself.

In order to help him have a stable place to live, the Poverty Reduction Campaign Committee of the town supported 30 million VND, Thu Thuy Ward Youth Union coordinated with the local government to call on benefactors, organizations, and businesses to support 35 million VND. In addition, the Ward Youth Union also mobilized some other construction materials.
The new 50 m2 house with an estimated cost of 100 million VND will be completed before Tet so that Mr. Nguyen Van Tai can celebrate Tet in time. Currently, the Thu Thuy Ward Youth Union and the Yen Trach Parish Executive Committee continue to mobilize neighbors and other sources of support to build a house for Mr. Tai.
On the same day, leaders of Cua Lo town also visited and sympathized with the family of Mr. Truong Van Canh in block 2, Thu Thuy ward, whose wood workshop caught fire in the early morning of December 13.

On behalf of the town leaders, Comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Town Party Committee visited and encouraged the family to try to overcome the current difficulties and soon stabilize their lives. At the same time, she requested the local Party Committee and government to pay attention and call for support so that the family can overcome the hardship, continue working, producing and developing the economy.
Cua Lo Town Relief Fund supported Mr. Canh's family with 10 million VND; the Town Farmers' Association and Thu Thuy Ward Association supported 6 million VND. In addition, the Thu Thuy Ward Fatherland Front Committee also supported 3 million VND, and the Ward Women's Union supported the family with 1 million VND.
