(Baonghean.vn) - Despite difficult circumstances, her father passed away, her mother is sick, and her family has many siblings, Vu Thi Ngoc Anh, a 4D student at Dien Hoang Primary School (Dien Chau) still overcomes difficulties and studies well.

We and the teachers visited Anh's house in Hamlet 11, Dien Hoang (Dien Chau, Nghe An), witnessed the pitiful family situation, and admired the determination of the poor student even more. The whole family of four, Anh, lived in a level 4 charity house, built with contributions from siblings, relatives and the local community.

My family has 3 siblings, Anh is the second child, the oldest brother is in 6th grade and the youngest is in kindergarten. Unfortunately, Anh's mother is only 36 years old this year but has poor eyesight and is mentally disabled so she is unable to work.

My father - the breadwinner of the family - unfortunately passed away due to a work accident while working as a mechanic in 2016. Since then, my family has lost their support.

The family was short of people, so everything in Anh's family depended on her grandparents. Although Anh's grandparents were old and often sick, they reluctantly became the ones to take care of Anh's mother and siblings every day. To help Anh and her mother, her grandmother went to the market every day to sell vegetables and dozens of eggs to earn extra money for her grandchildren's education. With the help of the commune's mass organizations, who bought breeding animals (cows, red scarf chickens), her grandparents also guided Anh and her mother in raising animals and doing business...

Because her mother is mentally disabled and unable to work, Anh has to wake up early every day to study and help her mother with housework. Life is so hard that even though she is in 4th grade (9 years old), Anh looks as skinny and small as a 2nd grader.

Anh's siblings all had to work harder than their peers, both working to support their families and studying hard, so up to now, they are all still going to school. Not only that, Anh's academic performance is quite good.

Ms. Vu Thi Ngoc Han, Anh's homeroom teacher, said: Despite her difficult circumstances, Anh is a very good student with excellent academic achievements, especially in Vietnamese.

Sharing about Anh's situation, Ms. Cao Thi Xuyen - Principal of Dien Hoang Primary School (Dien Chau) said: Among over 100 students with special circumstances at the school, Anh is the student with the most special difficult circumstances. The school's teachers have mobilized support for her but have only been able to help and encourage her to some extent.

My grandparents are old, my mother's health is getting worse, there is no support so I don't know what will happen to my siblings and their lives.

We look forward to the attention, support and sharing of the community and philanthropists to help the family of poor student Vu Thi Ngoc Anh reduce their difficulties and Anh's siblings continue to write their dream of going to school.
