EgyptAir had earlier tweeted that it had found debris from Flight MS804. However, the Greek Aviation Safety Board confirmed that the debris found in the country’s Karpathos sea area “is not from an aircraft.”
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi continued to call on units from relevant countries to search for the missing plane as well as further study of the found debris.
Regarding the cause of the disappearance, many hypotheses have been put forward, with many people favoring the hypothesis of a terrorist attack rather than a technical error.
Relatives of the 56 passengers on Flight MS804 are currently at Le Passage Hotel, near Cairo Airport. Most of the victims' families are angry that the authorities have not provided them with any useful information.
Mervat Mounirm, a relative of a young flight attendant on the flight, told reporters, “The Egyptian authorities are refusing to give us any information.” Another man said they had not given his relatives any information at all.
