(Baonghean.vn) - VFF affirmed that coach Park Hang-seo wants to stay with Vietnamese football for a long time and denied the news that the Korean coach left to lead the Thai team with a high salary.

On August 23, information appeared that the Thai Football Federation was solicitingCoach Park Hang-seoto lead the Thai team with a salary greater than the 50,000 USD/month (about 1.15 billion VND) that the Korean coach is receiving in Vietnam. In particular, the above information also said that coach Park Hang-seo is not satisfied with the risk of having his salary reduced due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Immediately, VFF denied the information that Coach Park left for Thailand to work, and affirmed that the Korean strategist wanted to stay with Vietnamese football for a long time.

"At a time when the team is focusing all its efforts on the first match of the final qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup, inappropriate information has appeared on social networks related to the contract between VFF and coach Park Hang-seo, creating incorrect public opinion and significantly affecting the team's preparation," the VFF announced.

VFF General Secretary Le Hoai Anh said that Coach Park Hang-seo feels happy with his job in Vietnam. Mr. Hoai Anh emphasized that VFF and Coach Park Hang-seo are determined to focus on the final qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup. Regarding the issue of contract extension, VFF and Coach Park Hang-seo agreed to proceed at an appropriate time.

The 2-year contract between VFF and coach Park Hang-seo expires in January 2022. In a recent statement to the Korean press, coach Park said he gave full authority to his representative to negotiate with VFF, while he focused on his work with the Vietnam national team and U22 Vietnam.

Previously, in a letter to his players after the Vietnamese team successfully qualified for the final qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup, coach Park Hang-seo said: “We still have a lot of work to do and from now on we will have to prepare, that is the final qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup from next September with truly strong teams, at the top level in Asia.
