Vietnam prepares to pilot e-visa
E-visas are issued through an electronic transaction system, are valid for a single entry, with a maximum duration of 30 days, and fees are paid through a bank account.
This pilot project has just been approved by the National Assembly with a high number of votes in favor.implemented in 2 years, from February 1, 2017.
Foreigners granted e-visas must have a passport and not be in the cases of not being allowed to enter as prescribed in Article 21 of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam.
The e-visa fee is paid via bank transfer to make the financial information public and transparent, making it easier for visitors to track and limit intermediary costs. This fee is non-refundable in case the visa is not granted.
Foreigners granted electronic visas, after entering Vietnam, if they request a new visa, the immigration authority will consider and resolve it according to regulations.
