Vietnam won 2 Silver Medals at World Math Olympiad
The Vietnamese student team won 2 Silver Medals, 7 Bronze Medals and the third prize in the team competition at the World Mathematics Olympiad.
At 7:00 p.m. on August 12, the Vietnamese student team won 2 Silver Medals, 7 Bronze Medals and the third prize in the team final round of the 2017 World Mathematics Olympiad organized by the International Mathematical Olympiad Association in Tianjin (China).
The Vietnamese team participating in the competition includes 12 students in grades 5 and 6 studying in Ho Chi Minh City. The 2 Silver Medals were won by Hoang Duong Phuc Quang and To Huynh Phuc, both students of Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted.

7 Silver medals were awarded to students from Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Hue Secondary School, and Tan Phu Secondary School. In addition, the Vietnamese team also won third place in the team competition, the Thai team won second place, and the host team China won first place.
This is the second year Vietnam has had a representative attend the final round of the World Mathematics Olympiad with contestants from many other countries such as China, UK, Canada, Australia, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia...
Previously, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City cooperated with EMG Education Company - the official representative in Vietnam of the International Mathematical Olympiad Association - to organize the competition "Mathematics - Thinking and Practice 2017".
The competition aims to find the best students to represent Vietnam in this international competition. The competition attracted 1,266 students from grades 5 to 8 to compete./.
