Vietnam records 5 more Covid-19 infections, bringing total to 99

Five people, including three Vietnamese and two British, living in Ho Chi Minh City, tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the number of patients nationwide to 99.

"Patient 95"is a 20-year-old male, residing in Go Vap district, studying abroad in France. He entered Tan Son Nhat on March 18 from flight AF258, seat 34J, and was quarantined in District 12. The patient is currently being treated at Cu Chi Field Hospital.

"Patient 96", female, 21 years old, living in District 8, in the 2 weeks before returning home, she traveled through Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, France, and then transited in Dubai on flight EK392, seat 30E. She entered Tan Son Nhat on the evening of March 19 and was quarantined at the dormitory of Ho Chi Minh City National University. The patient is currently being treated at the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

"Patient 97"is a 34-year-old male British national residing in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City, a foreign language teacher in Vietnam. This person stayed in Malaysia for 2 weeks before returning to Vietnam. On March 14, the patient went to Buddha Bar where Patient 91 also went. The patient had no symptoms, proactively declared his epidemiological history, the sample tested positive for Covid-19, and is being treated at the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

"Patient 98", male, 34 years old, British nationality, living in the same room with "patient 97" and also a foreign language teacher, shared the same journey with patient 97 and went to Buddha Bar together on March 14. He and patient 97 went to the doctor and then quarantined, and on March 21 were confirmed positive for Covid-19.

"Patient 99", male, 29 years old, Vietnamese nationality, address in Binh Thanh district, Ho Chi Minh City. On March 17, the patient from Paris - France boarded AirFrance flight number AF258, seat number 33H to Tan Son Nhat airport on March 18. Upon entry, the patient had no symptoms and was transferred to a centralized quarantine area in District 12, where samples were taken. The sample was concluded positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus by the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City on March 21.
