Vietnam has recently successfully test-fired 5.56mm bullets equipped for the modern Tavor TAR-21 assault rifle.

According to QPVN channel, recently at the firing range of the 147th Marine Brigade, the General Department of Defense Industry coordinated with a number of agencies to conduct technical tests on some types of ammunition produced by TCCNQP. This is to assess the level of suitability for some new types of guns equipped for the marine force. |
 |
The technical test ammunition is used on a number of firearms such as the Tavor TAR-21 assault rifle (Israel's 21st century assault rifle), the Galil sniper rifle and the 40mm grenade launcher. |

The Tavor TAR-21 assault rifle is the most modern model equipped for the Vietnam People's Army. The gun is designed with the latest technology by the Israeli company IWI. In addition to firing ammunition produced by the General Department, the firing also tested some ammunition of the same type produced abroad to compare the suitability of domestic products. Photo of a 40mm grenade attached to the barrel of a TAR-21 gun exploding on the test firing range. |

The results of the ammunition produced by the General Department of Defense Industry basically meet the technical requirements set forth. The successful production of new ammunition allows our army to significantly save on the cost of purchasing foreign ammunition. |
