Vinamilk supports 400 million VND for people affected by floods in Hanoi

(Baonghean.vn) - With the spirit of "helping each other", Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company Vinamilk has just donated 400 million VND to poor households affected by storms and floods, including 300 million VND in cash and 350 cartons of milk (equivalent to 100 million VND) for 1,600 students. In addition, Vinamilk also organized medical examinations and nutritional consultations for more than 300 students and teachers in Chuong My district, Hanoi.

The historic flood last October severely affected the lives of people in Chuong My and My Duc districts. In response, Hanoi City supported My Duc and Chuong My districts with 1 billion VND each; each family with a deceased person received 10 million VND; and each injured person received 5 million VND. In addition, Hanoi City organized many working groups to visit and give gifts to support people affected by storms and floods.

Despite receiving timely support from the local government, Nam Phuong Tien commune (Chuong My district) and Dong Chiem village, An Phu commune (My Duc district, Hanoi) still face many difficulties. Therefore, Vinamilk directly visited, encouraged and gave gifts to the families to work with the locality and Hanoi city to support people to quickly stabilize their lives.

The delegation gave 20 families in Dong Chiem village, An Phu commune, each family 5 million VND to repair their houses; and 200 poor households affected and damaged by floods in Nam Phuong Tien commune each 1 million VND. In addition, the delegation gave 350 cartons of milk equivalent to 100 million VND to 1,600 students in Nam Phuong Tien commune (Chuong My) and Huong Son commune (My Duc). In addition, Vinamilk also sent a team of doctors from Vinamilk's Nutrition Counseling Center to examine and advise more than 300 students and teachers of Nam Phuong Tien A Primary School to help them and teachers recover their health after the natural disaster.

Here, Director of Vinamilk Hanoi Branch Nguyen Minh Tam shared: “As the leading milk producer in Vietnam, we always strive to share the difficulties with people affected by natural disasters, storms and floods; constantly care and focus on community health care. We hope that these small gifts will share some of the difficulties of the people here, and at the same time contribute to helping children develop physically and mentally with milk donation activities and nutrition consultations”.

Receiving material and spiritual support from Vinamilk, leaders of Chuong My and My Duc districts said that the company's practical gifts will contribute to helping local people and students soon stabilize their lives, production, work and study, gradually overcome the consequences of floods and develop further.

During its journey of more than 41 years of establishment and development, in addition to focusing on developing high-quality nutritional products for Vietnamese consumers, Vinamilk has always cared about sharing with the community and society in difficult times.

Previously, at the end of September, Vinamilk donated 116,000 milk boxes worth VND1 billion to children in areas heavily affected by storms and floods in Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Nghe An to help them supplement their nutrition and recover physically after suffering from natural disasters. In 2016, Vinamilk also donated VND4.6 billion to flood victims in the North and South Central provinces from contributions from the company's staff./.
