According to Mr. Hoang Xuan Tin in Mai Giang 1 hamlet, Quynh Bang commune, shrimp larvae are brought home to be raised for about 15-20 days, then released into a large tank, the success rate of the larvae will be higher. However, to raise and nurture duckweed, a large pond area is needed and if you invest in a nursery, it will cost about 200 million for a tank with an area of about 600 m2.
To raise shrimp according to VietGap process, members of Quynh Bang shrimp farming cooperative in particular and farmers in other areas in general must use settling ponds, filter and treat water before putting it into the official farming pond. During the farming process, agricultural extension officers of Quynh Luu district, Hoang Mai town and the Aquaculture Sub-Department were divided into regions to guide the farming process according to VietGap standards and accompany farmers.
From the success of the first crop of shrimp farming, communes with small shrimp farming areas (about 20-30 hectares each) such as Quynh Thuan and An Hoa (Quynh Luu) also started raising shrimp in the second crop more frequently. Here, shrimp seed production facilities also play a significant role in contributing to the success of the first crop of shrimp farming and promoting the second crop of shrimp farming.
