Dien Dong Commune, Dien Chau District celebrates its 70th anniversary
(Baonghean.vn) - On November 12, the Party Committee, Government and People of Dien Dong Commune (Dien Chau District) solemnly held the 70th anniversary celebration.
Dien Dong, a fertile land separated from Tan Thai commune, was officially established in 1953. From a purely agricultural commune with self-sufficient production, backward farming level, and extremely difficult material life of the people, Dien Dong has risen to become one of the communes with a fairly fast development speed in Dien Chau district.

In particular, after more than 10 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development (NTM), Dien Dong commune has focused on building rural areas with gradually modern economic and social infrastructure; the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved, contributing to building an increasingly prosperous and strong homeland. Entering the implementation of the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress, term 2020-2025, right from the beginning of the term, the Dien Dong Commune Party Committee has developed programs and plans; implemented the goals and resolutions set out by the congress, on the basis of promoting the available potential conditions of the locality; combined with external support resources; the goal of building a commune that meets advanced NTM standards.

Up to now, the economy in the commune has continued to grow. The economic structure has gradually shifted in the right direction, the proportion of agriculture has decreased, industry, construction and services have increased. In 2023, the total income in terms of production value in the commune was more than 345 billion VND, reaching 101.85% of the plan. The growth rate in production value was 11.4%, reaching 95% compared to the target of the Party Resolution in 2023 and the Resolution of the Party Congress for the term 2020-2025. The average income per capita reached over 55 million VND/person/year, reaching 100.33% compared to the target of the Party Resolution in 2023, reaching 87.17% of the target (at the end of the term) of the Resolution of the Party Congress for the term 2020-2025.

There has been much progress in culture and society, the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life in residential areas, building cultural families and cultural villages has been increasingly promoted. Currently, 91% of families are recognized as cultural families; 100% of residential areas are recognized as cultural residential areas. Cultural, artistic and sports activities have been promoted, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere that is truly spiritual food for the people.
The educational movement is maintained and promoted, facilities and teaching equipment are increasingly strengthened, schools are gradually solidified, the quality of key points is improved, the number of teachers and students with high achievements every year ranks first and second in the cluster.
The movement to build advanced new rural areas has been strongly participated by the entire political system. People contributed 1.5 billion VND to purchase facilities in the cultural house and other items. Up to now, the total number of advanced new rural criteria that have been achieved and basically achieved is 17/19 criteria (02 criteria that have not been achieved are criterion No. 13 on organization and development of rural economy, criterion No. 14 on health care).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tang Van Luyen - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Chau district congratulated the achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Dien Dong commune have achieved in recent years.
