Socializing contraceptives to 379 communes, wards and towns

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 25, the Department of Population/Family Planning held a Conference to Deploy the Plan for the Project "Socialization of providing contraceptive services in 2016".

The project "Socialization of the provision of contraceptives and family planning/reproductive health services" aims to contribute to accelerating the socialization of contraceptives in accordance with the orientation of the Vietnam Population - Reproductive Health Strategy for the period 2011 - 2020.

Through the project, it also aims to meet the increasing and diverse needs for contraceptives, quality family planning/reproductive health care goods and services for the people. Thereby, raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, organizations and individuals on the socialization of contraceptives in the new situation. At the same time, mobilizing and improving the efficiency of investment resources from domestic and foreign enterprises, organizations and individuals for the population and family planning program in line with the development trend.

According to the plan, after the project comes into operation, each year at least 85% of couples of childbearing age will be informed, counseled, and mobilized to implement socialized contraception. 100% of districts and communes with medical facilities will implement socialized provision of family planning/reproductive health services and contraceptives... The project will be implemented until 2020 in 379 communes, wards, and towns throughout the province.
