With the spirit of "Respecting God and loving the country, living the gospel in the heart of the nation", in recent years, the Catholic people of Nghia Thuan commune have promoted the spirit of solidarity, dynamism, creativity, and innovation in business, effectively implementing the goal of hunger eradication and poverty reduction, and striving to become rich legitimately. The emulation movements to build new rural areas, charity activities, and mutual assistance to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty were also enthusiastically responded by the parishioners. 100% of registered parishioner households had no violators of the law or social evils. Catholic people in 3 hamlets: 5A, 5B and hamlet 4 joined hands to build a cultural house in their residential hamlet with a total value of 325 million VND. 36 parishioner households donated 6,450 m2 of land and 70 trees to build village roads, worth 118.2 million VND. In the past 5 years, with the support of the "Fund for the Poor" of the Town, Nghia Thuan commune has mobilized resources from the people to build 5 new solidarity houses for Catholic families in difficult circumstances, with a total value of 213 million VND.
In the coming period, the conference determined the focus is to continue promoting solidarity between religions, linking the content of the campaign "living a good life and a good religion" with the campaigns "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas"; building solidarity between the church and society to develop more sustainably and effectively.
The conference elected 2 delegates to attend the Congress of the Catholic Movement for Building and Protecting the Fatherland in the province for the 2012-2017 term. On this occasion, the People's Committee of Nghia Thuan commune awarded 5 certificates of merit to exemplary Catholic families.
