The third commune in Ky Son has African swine fever
(Baonghean.vn) - Up to now, in Ky Son area (Nghe An), this dangerous epidemic has been recorded in 3 communes.
On the evening of May 23, the Veterinary Agency of Region III had the test results of sick pigs from Mrs. Lo Thi Huong's household in Tha Lang village and Mrs. Moong Pho Nang's household in Cha Ca 1 village, Bao Thang commune. Accordingly, the above samples were positive for African swine fever.

Immediately after a new outbreak, the District People's Committee directed Bao Thang commune to promptly count the number of infected pigs for destruction, and immediately deploy on-site epidemic prevention and control work.

Determining that African swine fever will become complicated and spread widely in the district in the coming days, the People's Committee of Ky Son district has allocated 70 million VND from the reserve fund to buy 20 tons of lime powder, proactively supplying it to localities to prevent, fight and control African swine fever.
On the morning of May 24, the district Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station received the above quantity of lime powder.

This is an urgent and necessary solution, because Ky Son has a large area, most of the communes are far from the district center, when an epidemic occurs, it is very difficult to find a source of lime powder.
Thus, up to this point, Ky Son district has had 3 communes tested positive for African swine fever: Muong Tip, Huu Kiem and Bao Thang.
