Molesting a 7-year-old girl, a village boy in Nghe An was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
(Baonghean.vn) - After inviting LTL (born 2013) who lives in the same village (Dong Van, Que Phong district, Nghe An) to visit wild animal traps, when they arrived at a deserted forest area, Luong Van Dau sexually abused the child.
On June 22, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened the first instance trial of defendant Luong Van Dau (born 1993), residing in Dong Van commune, Que Phong district, for the crime of "Raping a person under 16 years old".
According to the indictment, on the evening of January 15, 2020, Luong Van Dau invited LTL (born 2013), who lived in the same village, to visit wild animal traps. On the way, when they reached a deserted forest area, this young man sexually assaulted the child. Dau told the victim not to tell anyone and gave L. 10,000 VND.

That same evening, while bathing her child, L.'s mother discovered something unusual in her genitals and asked about it. Only then did the victim recount the incident.
The incident was immediately reported to the authorities. That same evening, Dau was arrested by the police.
At the trial, Luong Van Dau admitted to committing the crime as charged in the indictment. The defendant said that he had been drinking alcohol beforehand and could not control his actions. He also hoped that the victim’s family and the jury would consider and reduce his sentence.
The legal representative for the victim requested the defendant to compensate 30 million VND, requesting the People's Court to give the defendant a severe sentence.
Considering the case comprehensively, the People's Court sentenced defendant Luong Van Dau to 20 years in prison and ordered him to pay compensation of 30 million VND.
