The source of the Party's strength

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union is a socio-political organization of the youth. It is an organization with the function of nurturing, educating, and training outstanding youth to become union members, and nurturing outstanding union members to join the Party. The Youth Union is the largest, closest, and most trusted organization of the Party. Therefore, paying attention to nurturing and educating young people and building the Youth Union organization is an important content, aiming to supplement the young force for the Party, ensuring the inheritance and continuous development of the Party and also building the Party one step ahead in a scientific and sustainable way.

President Ho Chi Minh once said: “A year begins in spring. A life begins in youth. Youth is the spring of society.”He said: "Youth is the backbone of the country". Before passing away, in his Will, Uncle Ho advised: Nurturing the next generation of revolutionaries is a very important and necessary task.

Since its founding, the Party and Uncle Ho have selected outstanding young people, fostered patriotism, revolutionary theory and methods; established patriotic organizations, spread Marxism-Leninism,... From the young people who went abroad in the early 20th century to generations of young people who have spent their youth fighting, winning in resistance wars against foreign invaders and taking the lead in defending the Fatherland and building the country.

Entering the renovation process, most young people went to factories, export processing zones, some went to civil servants, armed forces, the rest were young people in schools, very few young people stayed in the countryside. Looking at the distribution of the labor force, many people in the countryside were worried about the youth movement, about the Youth Union organization.

However, we increasingly see that it is an inevitable division of labor. And in every field, the youth is still an important force, a pioneer in protecting and building the country. The youth always show love for the country, national pride, always nurture ambitions and aspirations to contribute, protect the country, establish a career, and enrich themselves and society.

It can be affirmed that through activities in various fields, it has contributed to the formation of a generation of young people with ideals and ambitions. Through action programs, projects, and youth work, individuals and advanced models have emerged, selected, nurtured, trained, and created a source for Party development by the Youth Union. At the recent Central Youth Union workshop on developing new Party members, there were figures: More than 75% of Party members admitted in the past time are outstanding youth union members.

Youth movement and Union work still have many limitations and shortcomings.

In addition to the achievements, the youth movement and the building of the Youth Union organization still have many limitations and shortcomings. The quality of the Youth Union organization, especially in mountainous, rural and urban areas, is not high. The regime of the Youth Union branches in many places is not disciplined. The content of the activities is not rich and flexible. The work of building and developing the Youth Union organization in many non-state enterprises has not received due attention. The mobilization and gathering of youth union members in some localities is still limited. There are still not many typical and progressive examples of economic development among young people. A part of the youth has a hedonistic ideology and lifestyle, is indifferent to revolutionary ideals and ethics, is indifferent, does not care about socio-economic issues, traditional culture... has no idea of ​​striving to rise up, is even opportunistic, self-interested, unhealthy; some party members are very young, newly admitted, lack exemplary vanguards, have their names removed from the list of party members,...

Strengthening the Youth Union organization is one step ahead in Party building work.

The relationship between the Party and the Youth Union is a close, dialectical, and mutually reinforcing organic relationship. Only when the Party is clean and strong can the Youth Union develop and vice versa, only when the Youth Union is strong can it provide the Party with a young, continuous, and successor force. The Youth Union is the main and reliable reserve force that supplements the Party's force. Building and consolidating the Youth Union organization is an organic, inevitable, and one-step-ahead part of the Party building work. Therefore, each Party committee and each Youth Union chapter must attach importance to the propaganda and education of youth union members; orienting the activities of the Youth Union organization is to practically build the Party one step ahead and sustainably.

It is necessary to propagate and educate so that youth union members deeply understand the glorious revolutionary tradition of the Party and the Youth Union, the nature, purpose and principles of the Party, contribute ideas to cadres and party members, build a clean and strong Party; build awareness and responsibility of youth union members to participate in building and protecting the Party.

The Youth Union at all levels needs to be truly innovative and creative in the content and form of activities, ensuring that they are suitable for the type of work, attractive and practical. It is necessary to organize well the movements: "Youth proudly marching under the Party's flag", "Creative Youth", "Youth living beautifully, living usefully", etc. Discussions and discussions on the topics: "Youth Union members and youth strive to become members of the Communist Party of Vietnam", "Party with youth - Youth with the Party"; competitions to learn about the moral example and style of Ho Chi Minh, the glorious tradition of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, about the homeland and country, etc. Launch revolutionary action movements of the youth: "Pioneering in socio-economic development and protecting the Fatherland", "Accompanying youth to establish a career", etc.

Along with discovering, nurturing and recruiting new party members, it is necessary to pay attention to monitoring, caring for and helping young party members after they are admitted to the Party so that they can mature soon./.
