Attach importance to training and fostering the team of cadres in charge of protecting the Party's ideological foundation.

On the morning of December 20 in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee 35 held a national conference to review 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW, dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Politburo on strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against hostile and erroneous viewpoints in the new situation.

Attending and directing the Conference were Comrade Vo Van Thuong - Politburo member, President, Head of Central Steering Committee 35; Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Permanent Deputy Head of Central Steering Committee 35 and representatives of leaders of central departments, ministries and branches; representatives of leaders and professional agencies of provinces and cities nationwide.

The delegation of Nghe An province attending the Conference was led by Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. Also attending were representatives of the leaders and specialized departments of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications, the Provincial Military Command, and the Provincial Police.

Over the past 5 years, with the political determination of the entire Party, people, army and the entire political system, Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo has been implemented and affirmed to represent a step forward in the Party's awareness of the role of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.

For the first time, our Party has issued a thematic resolution that comprehensively and synchronously outlines the content, viewpoints, solutions, and organization of forces, meeting urgent practical requirements in the new context, firmly protecting the Party's ideological foundation, preventing manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, contributing to building a clean and strong Party and political system.

Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW has been implemented in a drastic, methodical, unified, comprehensive manner, harmoniously combining "building" and "fighting", with creative, diverse, rich, practical, effective forms, methods, and approaches that truly enter life, creating the combined strength of "people's hearts and minds", creating social consensus to promote opportunities and advantages, overcome difficulties and challenges, and achieve important achievements in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

However, in addition to the achieved results, the Central Committee also pointed out the remaining shortcomings and limitations: Some places have implemented research, study and implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW in a formal and in-depth manner. The summarization of practices and theoretical research have developed, but have not really met the practical requirements. The work of building, organizing and coordinating among forces has not met the requirements. The work of monitoring, grasping, detecting and handling bad and toxic information, wrong and hostile views on the internet and social networks has not been timely at times and in some places. The work of fighting against "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party in some places has not really changed clearly...

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Vo Van Thuong - Politburo member, President, Head of Central Steering Committee 35 commended and highly appreciated the results of the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW over the past 5 years by the entire Party, army and people, contributing to maintaining political stability, ensuring political security and social order and safety.

Comrade Vo Van Thuong requested that in the coming time, Party committees, Party organizations and the entire political system need to continue implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW with a spirit of determination, creativity, strength and efficiency, focusing on a number of key tasks and solutions: Continuing to innovate and improve the quality of political and ideological work, clearly defining the responsibilities of leaders and each cadre and Party member; attaching importance to the training and fostering of cadres in charge of protecting the Party's ideological foundation; promoting the role and responsibility of relevant agencies, especially press and media agencies in propagating, providing official information, and leading public opinion; building, perfecting and synchronizing institutions on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against bad and toxic information, wrong and hostile viewpoints; better promoting the role of artists and intellectuals.

Promote technological solutions, apply scientific and technical achievements and ensure necessary conditions for the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation. Strengthen the synchronous implementation of economic, social, inspection and supervision solutions; strengthen coordination in detecting, handling, ensuring national network safety and security in the fight against fake news, toxic information, wrong and hostile views on the Internet and social networks as well as building a safe and healthy Vietnamese cyberspace environment, contributing to firmly protecting national independence and sovereignty in cyberspace, protecting the ideological foundation, protecting the Party, State, people and socialist regime in the new situation.

On this occasion, the Central Propaganda Department awarded Certificates of Merit to 22 collectives and 28 individuals with outstanding achievements in 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo. Nghe An province was honored to have 1 individual, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, receiving a Certificate of Merit from the Central Government.
