'Crazy' car crossed lanes and hit and killed two female students on their way home from school

A four-seater car was weaving and encroaching on lanes at high speed and crashed into three electric bicycles of female students, killing two of them and leaving one in the hospital.

On the evening of September 12, news from Vinh Bao District Police said that on National Highway 10 in Giang Bien Commune, Vinh Bao District, Hai Phong City, a traffic accident occurred, killing two female students, one of whom is being treated at the Vietnam-Czech Friendship Hospital.

According to initial information from the authorities, at around 11:30 a.m. the same day, a car driven by Vu Ngoc Tuan (23 years old, residing at 11/33 Nam Son, Le Chan District) in the direction of Hai Phong - Thai Binh, crossed lanes at high speed, swerved, and crashed head-on into three electric bicycles of the children: Dang Thi Thu Thuy, Pham Thi Yen, both residing in Dai Thang Commune, Tien Lang District, and Ngo Thi Linh, residing in Giang Bien Commune, Vinh Bao District.

All three female students are grade 11 students of To Hieu High School, on their way home from school.

The strong collision caused Yen to die on the spot, Thuy died after being taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. Linh is currently being treated at the Vietnam - Czech Friendship Hospital.

At the scene, all three electric bicycles were smashed, many pieces of the bikes were scattered dozens of meters from the scene.

The leaders of To Hieu High School said that the school had come to encourage and coordinate with the families to arrange funerals for the two deceased victims and visit Linh.

Currently, Vinh Bao District Police are detaining Vu Ngoc Tuan for investigation and handling.
