On the morning of November 20, Mr. Tran Trong Nhan (44 years old) drove a 16-seat car carrying bride-to-be passengers from Ben Tre to Ho Chi Minh City. When the car passed Rach Mieu Bridge, two brothers, Le Truong Phuc Quoc (36 years old) and Le Truong Han (42 years old), used helmets and bricks to smash the windshield.
Quoc and Han continued to chase the car on their motorbike for more than a kilometer, stopped the car, then pulled out a piece of wood to hit the driver on the head and hands and damaged the car. However, the two men were restrained by many people in the wedding car.
Upon checking their motorbike, the police discovered a bag containing two dead dogs and many dog-stealing tools. Both admitted that they were on their way to steal dogs and claimed that they were angry and chased after a wedding car to get revenge.
The wedding car was severely damaged by the attack and could not continue its journey. Because all car rental services in My Tho City were jammed, the wedding party could not rent another car.
"In this situation, My Tho City Police flexibly lent the unit's 16-seat car so that the group could continue their journey to bring the bride back to Ho Chi Minh City for the ceremony on time," said Lieutenant Colonel Pham The Kim, Deputy Chief of My Tho City Police.
