Overloaded vehicles circulating on national highways, Nghe An Department of Transport requests Road Management Department II to take action

The reason stated by the Department of Transport in Document No. 3225/SGTVT-TTr is: According to people's feedback, recently, the situation of cars carrying minerals from Cau Treo Border Gate (Ha Tinh) to Cua Lo Port circulating on National Highway 1, National Highway 46, National Highway 46C (Lam River road)... has shown signs of carrying goods exceeding the permitted load, affecting traffic safety and road traffic infrastructure.

“Continuing to implement the direction of the Ministry of Transport, the Vietnam Road Administration and the People's Committee of Nghe An province on strengthening control of vehicle load, contributing to ensuring road traffic safety; promptly and strictly handling acts of transporting goods exceeding the permitted load, the Nghe An Department of Transport respectfully requests the Road Management Department II to strengthen the direction of inspection and handling of the above vehicles according to the functions, tasks and powers prescribed by law” - the Department of Transport emphasized in Document No. 3225/SGTVT-TTr.
At the same time, the Department of Transport affirmed that it will direct the Department's Inspectorate to coordinate with the Road Management Department II in the process of inspection and handling of violations; at the same time, work directly with the Cua Lo Port management unit, requesting strict control of the load and size limits for vehicles operating in and out of the port according to regulations.

It is known that on the same day of issuing Document No. 3225/SGTVT-TTr, the Department of Transport Inspectorate worked with Cua Lo Stevedoring Enterprise - Nghe Tinh Port to verify information about overloaded trucks arriving at Cua Lo Port.

The Department of Transport Inspectorate was informed by Cua Lo Stevedoring Enterprise - Nghe Tinh Port that on September 28, 2020, there were 6 cars ofGroupHoang Son(38C-04758, 38C-11024, 38C- 04159, 38H-00003, 38C-11156, 38C-06108) carrying iron ore to Cua Lo Port showed signs of overloading.
After that, the port made a record of inspection and requested 6 cars to leave the port to unload properly. These 6 trucks complied, left the port to unload and returned to the port on September 29, 2020.
