Truck hits motorbike, father and 8 year old daughter die tragically

The father took advantage of Sunday to take his daughter to Nghe An to visit her grandmother. On the way home, they were hit by a truck, killing both father and daughter.

The tragic accident occurred on the morning of October 29 on National Highway 1A (through Xuan An town, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh) between a truck and a motorbike, causing the father to die on the spot and the son to die on the way to the hospital.

At the above mentioned time, Mr. Tran Quoc Hoi (64 years old, residing in Duc Quang commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh) was riding a motorbike with license plate 38H2-4809, carrying his daughter, Tran Thi Kim Thoa (8 years old, 3rd grade student) in the direction of Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City.

When Mr. Hoi and his son reached the Ben Thuy 2 overpass intersection (crossing the Lam River, connecting Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces), they were hit by a truck with license plate 37C-180.21 driven by Nguyen Van Dung (27 years old, residing in Dau Lieu ward, Hong Linh town, Ha Tinh) going in the same direction, turning right to go towards Ben Thuy 2 bridge.

The strong collision caused the motorbike to fall under the truck, killing Mr. Hoi on the spot. People took Kim Thoa to the emergency room but her injuries were too severe and she died.

According to relatives, Mr. Hoi took his daughter to visit her grandmother in Nghe An and on the way home, the tragic accident happened.

Immediately after the accident, Nghi Xuan District Police were present at the scene to regulate traffic, make a record, examine and investigate the accident.
