4 establishments were fined 44 million VND for violating food safety

(Baonghean.vn) - Inspecting food production and trading establishments in the area, the provincial interdisciplinary inspection team fined 4 establishments for violations with a total of 44 million VND.

Pursuant to Decision 6830/QD-UBND dated December 29, 2016 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, from January 5, 2016, the Nghe An Provincial Interdisciplinary Inspection Team began to inspect the compliance with regulations on ensuring food safety during the Dinh Dau Lunar New Year and the 2017 Spring Festival season in the area.

After 10 days, the provincial interdisciplinary inspection team inspected 9 food production and trading establishments, of which 5 were in the agricultural sector and 4 were in the industrial and commercial sector. The team discovered 5 establishments with administrative violations (3 establishments in Vinh city and 2 establishments in Do Luong district); handled the violations: Warning 01 establishment; Fining 4 establishments with a total amount of 44 million VND; Destroying expired goods worth 15 million VND.

The 5 food production and trading establishments that were handled above had the following violations: Regarding procedural records, they did not have a facility that meets food safety conditions, a health certificate, a certificate of food safety knowledge, and did not have a retail alcohol license; Violations regarding product quality, including labels that do not fully contain the required content; Improper storage conditions for goods; Expired goods.

To ensure food safety during Tet, during this time, in addition to the province's interdisciplinary inspection team conducting inspections, specialized teams from the provincial police, agriculture, health, industry and trade, urban districts, wards, communes and towns are also actively inspecting, examining and correcting violations./.
