(Baonghean.vn)- In one week of operation, Nghi Loc District Police handled 66 cases of speeding violations including trucks, cars, passenger cars, buses and motorbikes. The total amount of fines collected to the state budget was 56.6 million VND.

Route N5 (Nam Cam Industrial Park) and the connecting road N5 to Hoa Son commune, Do Luong district, called Provincial Road 538B, have just been put into use but have revealed many risks of traffic accidents. Provincial Road 538B passes through many residential areas, with a large volume of traffic, combined with a slippery, wide road surface, and people in traffic are in a relaxed state of mind, driving at high speeds, paying little attention to intersections, and the risk of traffic accidents is quite high.

In the first three months of operation, on Provincial Road 538B, through Nghi Loc district, there were 3 traffic accidents, injuring 3 people. The main cause of the accidents was due to the driver not controlling the speed.

Faced with this situation, Nghi Loc District Police have increased the use of professional measures in patrolling and controlling to handle vehicles that violate the law such as speeding, overloading, and causing rocks and soil to fall on the road.

During the first week of the campaign, Nghi Loc District Police handled 66 cases of speeding violations. Among them were 33 trucks, 17 cars, 7 passenger cars, buses and 9 motorbikes; 2 cases of cars exceeding the speed limit by 27km/h and 28km/h, had their driving licenses suspended for 1 month and were fined 5 million VND. The total amount of fines collected to the state budget was 56.6 million VND.

Captain Cao Minh Thanh - Deputy Captain of the Traffic Police Team of Nghi Loc District Police said: "In the process of handling violations of the above errors, many people have not grasped the new regulations on Highway 538B. Through the explanation of the Traffic Police officers of Nghi Loc Police, everyone has grasped the new regulations. To ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles traveling on the Provincial Road, in addition to increasing patrols and controls, the unit also recommends that contractors urgently complete the painted lines and speed bumps at the intersection of Provincial Road 538B with the residential level crossing".

In a short time, Provincial Road 538B will be completed. At that time, the number of vehicles participating in traffic on the route will increase, the risk of traffic accidents will also increase.
