Fined over 100 million for 3 newspapers reporting false news

The Ministry of Information and Communications has just decided to administratively sanction three press agencies for reporting false news.

The Press Department, Ministry of Information and Communications has just issued a decision to fine three newspapers: Thanh Nien, Nguoi Lao Dong, and Phap Luat TP.HCM for publishing untrue information.

Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper was fined 60 million VND for reporting false information in the articles “Stop dredging sand at Ham Luong estuary” published on May 16, “Enterprise donates 2 Lexus cars to Ca Mau” published on February 21, “Signs of preferential treatment after receiving Lexus cars” published on February 22, and “Ca Mau wrongly advanced money to company donating Lexus cars” published on February 23.

The Laborer newspaper was fined 30 million VND for providing false information in the article “Ca Mau province received 2 cars worth 6.2 billion VND from a business” published on February 21 and the article “The person who donated 2 “super cars” to Ca Mau province speaks out” published on February 22.

Thanh Nien Newspaper was fined 15 million VND for providing false information in the article "Business giving away luxury cars gets 'light punishment' from province for violations" published on February 22./.
