The fourth outbreak of African swine fever appeared in Dien Chau district
(Baonghean.vn) - Dien Truong is the 4th locality in Dien Chau to have an outbreak of swine fever in just the first 9 days of May. Dien Chau district is currently directing specialized agencies and localities to actively implement many solutions to prevent the epidemic.
On the afternoon of May 8, Mr. Nguyen Trong Bon - Head of the Dien Chau District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station said that the Veterinary Agency of Region III had the test results of the sick pig samples at Mr. Nguyen Van Suu's family in Hamlet 15, Dien Truong Commune (Dien Chau) positive for African swine fever.

Accordingly, on the afternoon of May 6, the People's Committee of Dien Truong commune reported sick and dead pigs at Mr. Nguyen Van Suu's household. The Dien Chau District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station conducted clinical examinations and took samples to test for African swine fever. By the afternoon of May 8, the Regional Veterinary Agency III had positive results for African swine fever.
Mr. Suu's family has 3 pigs, of which 2 are sick, each weighing about 80 - 90 kg.
After discovering another outbreak of African swine fever in the district, the Dien Chau District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station immediately deployed the task of destroying the pig herd and providing guidance on disease prevention and control solutions in Dien Truong commune.

This afternoon, the commune government held a meeting to agree on the establishment of teams to prevent and control African swine fever, including 7 quarantine checkpoints, logistics teams, destruction teams, chemical spraying teams... Currently, there are more than 1,000 pigs in the commune.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Bon - Head of Dien Chau District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station added: Currently, there are sick pigs in Dien My commune, the station is conducting inspections and taking samples for testing.
Faced with the spread of African swine fever in the district, Dien Chau Veterinary Station is requesting the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine to provide an additional 300 liters of chemicals to localities for disease prevention.
Thus, in the past 9 days, in Dien Chau district, there have been 4 outbreaks of African swine fever in 4 communes: Dien Van, Dien Kim, Dien Thai and Dien Truong.
