Two more outbreaks of H5N6 avian influenza appeared in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 11, in Quynh Luu district, two more outbreaks of H5N6 avian influenza appeared in Quynh Hau and Quynh Ba communes.

On the morning of February 11, information from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine said that two test samples in Quynh Ba and Quynh Hau communes, Quynh Luu district, were both positive for H5N6 avian influenza.
Previously, the poultry flocks of Mr. Ho Ngoc Khoi in Hamlet 2, Quynh Hau Commune (with 58 geese and ducks) and Mr. Ho Khac Chau in Hamlet 7, Quynh Ba Commune (with 85 geese and ducks) were affected by the epidemic. The Veterinary Department of Quynh Luu District has taken action, collected samples, isolated and contained the epidemic; vaccinated, and sprayed disinfectants in the epidemic area...
Thus, from February 6 to now, in Quynh Luu district, there have been 3 outbreaks of H5N6 avian influenza.

According to the Ministry of Health, H5N6 avian influenza is a dangerous infectious disease caused by influenza virus group A/H5N6. The disease spreads very quickly, killing many poultry species such as chickens, ducks, geese, quails... In particular, H5N6 avian influenza can be transmitted to humans and cause death.
The Ministry of Health requires that in cases of acute respiratory infections or severe pneumonia where the patient has a history of contact with sick poultry that died in an area with influenza A/H5N6, the treating medical facility must take note to collect samples and send them to the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.
