Agricultural exports in January reached 2.33 billion USD

According to statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in January 2016, agricultural export turnover was estimated at 2.33 billion USD, down 3.1% compared to the same period in 2015.

Of which, the export value of main agricultural products is estimated at 1.16 billion USD, up 2.8% over the same period in 2015.

Specifically, the volume of rice exported in January 2016 is estimated at 495,000 tons with a value of 218 million USD, an increase of 56.7% in volume and 46.0% in value compared to the same period in 2015. Rice exports in 2015 reached 6.59 million tons with 2.8 billion USD, an increase of 4% in volume but a decrease of 4.5% in value compared to 2014.

Coffee exports in January 2016 were estimated at 149,000 tons with a value of 264 million USD, up 8% in volume but down 9.1% in value compared to the same period in 2015.

Estimated rubber export volume in January 2016 reached 106,000 tons with a value of 120 million USD, up 13.3% in volume but down 10.5% in value compared to the same period in 2015.

Tea export volume in January 2016 is estimated at 9,000 tons with a value of 15 million USD, down 3.2% in volume and 9.4% in value compared to the same period in 2015.

Estimated export value of wood and wood products in January 2016 reached 489 million USD, down 15.8% compared to the same period in 2015.

Seafood export value in January 2016 is estimated at 455 million USD, down 8.8% compared to the same period in 2015.

The export volume of cassava and cassava products in January 2016 is estimated at 445,000 tons, with a value of 120 million USD, up 2.8% in volume but down 16.4% in value compared to the same period in 2015.
