100% of communes, wards and towns have Community Learning Centers

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 26, the Provincial Steering Committee for Universal Education - Illiteracy Eradication and Building a Learning Society held a conference to review 3 years of implementing Decision 856 of the Provincial People's Committee on "Building a Learning Society in Nghe An Province for the period 2012 - 2020".

Also attending were representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, relevant departments and branches, Department of Education and Training, Continuing Education Centers of districts, cities and towns.

The project of Building a Learning Society in Nghe An is implemented to promote the learning movement of all people of all ages, eliminate illiteracy and universalize education at all levels; improve the educational level, awareness, and professional qualifications of officials and workers; improve life skills, build personal and community lives, thereby contributing to the development of the local economy and society.

After 3 years of implementing Decision 856, currently the whole province has 480/480 communes, wards and towns with Community Learning Centers; the number of people aged 15-35 who are literate reaches 99.4%; 480/480 communes, wards and towns have met the standards for eliminating illiteracy - Universalizing primary education; 479/480 communes, wards and towns have met the standards for universalizing lower secondary education, reaching 99.8%....

Huoi Moi 1 school was put into use to create more convenience for students. Hopefully there will be more cooperation from the community to help students in especially difficult areas.

To successfully implement the goals of the 2016 - 2020 period; the conference agreed on 7 tasks and solutions for implementation. In particular, focusing on promoting propaganda work; consolidating and developing the network of continuing education facilities; Community Learning Centers; Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers...

Strive for the period 2016 - 2020, the whole province has 99.5% of people aged 15 - 35 literate; 100% of districts, cities and towns firmly consolidate the results of universal primary education level 2; 70% of rural workers are updated with knowledge, skills, and transferred science and technology in production...
