The last two field hospitals in Nghe An have stopped accepting patients and are about to disband.
(Baonghean.vn) - Starting today, the last two field hospitals in Nghe An will stop accepting patients and will officially disband after all remaining patients are discharged.
On March 22, Dr. Le Van Sau - Director of Field Hospital No. 3 (located in Cua Lo town), said that this unit will stop accepting patients for treatment starting today. "Currently, there are about 70 patients in the hospital, expected to be discharged within the next week. At that time, Field Hospital No. 3 will officially disband after more than half a year of operation," said Dr. Sau.
Field Hospital No. 3 was established and put into operation on August 21, 2021, with a scale of 250 beds. Since then, this has been the place to treat mild and moderate Covid-19 patients. This hospital was requisitioned from the Traffic 4 - Cua Lo Emergency Response Center, with 70 medical staff from many hospitals mobilized to perform the task.

On the same day, the leader of Field Hospital No. 8 also said that the unit had also stopped accepting patients for treatment. "Currently, there are about 250 patients here, and it is expected that all of them will be discharged in the next 10 days," said a leader of Field Hospital No. 8.
Field Hospital No. 3 and Field Hospital No. 8 are the last two field hospitals in Nghe An. Both hospitals are places to treat mild and moderate Covid-19 patients. If there is a severe progression, they will be transferred to the Tropical Disease Center. Nghe An Field Hospital No. 8 is located in Area B of Nghe An General Friendship Hospital; with a capacity of 1,000 beds, put into operation from October 25, 2021.

After these last field hospitals are disbanded, mild and moderate Covid-19 patients will be transferred directly to the Tropical Disease Center (Nghe An General Hospital) for further monitoring and treatment. The Tropical Disease Center has long been known as the final line of treatment for F0 in Nghe An, with only severe and critical patients being transferred here.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, Nghe An province has recorded 359,089 Covid-19 cases. This is the locality with the fourth highest number of Covid-19 cases in the country, after Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong. Since the beginning of the year, the number of infections in Nghe An has continuously increased sharply, the number of cases recorded each day is second only to Hanoi, with tens of thousands of F0.
