25 heroin cakes wrapped in nylon bags, printed with foreign characters, washed ashore in Tam Thanh commune, Tam Ky city, on the afternoon of November 30.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Van Man - Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard said that at 4:00 p.m., people in Tam Thanh commune discovered a plastic can drifting in from the sea, containing many chemical cakes.

Each cake is wrapped in nearly 10 layers of yellow paper, and wrapped in nylon. Each cake has a red seal with foreign writing on it.

People reported to Tam Thanh Border Guard Station and handed over 13 cakes. Quang Nam Provincial Border Guard sent forces down, determined that the packages contained heroin and urged people to hand them over.

At 9 p.m., people handed over 12 more cakes, bringing the total number of heroin cakes temporarily held by border guards to 25. The exact amount, type of heroin, and origin need to be verified, said Lieutenant Colonel Man.

The provincial Border Guard continued to warn people to hand over similar cakes if they found them, and divided into groups to search the beach.
