78 years old staged a traffic accident to seize property
A 78-year-old man and a 32-year-old man from Ho Chi Minh City came to Tra Vinh to create traffic accidents to steal property.
On November 20, Tra Vinh police said that the investigation agency had prosecuted and temporarily detained Truong Hoang Minh (32 years old) and Nguyen Van Duc (78 years old, both residing in Ho Chi Minh City) to investigate the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
According to the investigation agency, on November 13, people reported that two subjects staged a traffic collision, then seized a gold ring (10 taels of 24K gold), stole more than 7 million VND from people, and quickly escaped.

The Criminal Police Department of Tra Vinh Province Police quickly coordinated with other police units to hotly arrest Minh and Duc in Binh Phu Commune (Cang Long District). The authorities temporarily seized a motorbike, a 10-tael gold ring, a watch and 10 million VND.
Both subjects confessed that they often drove motorbikes around Tra Vinh City. When they discovered people wearing gold, they immediately approached them and created a traffic collision situation.
After that, the two pretended that a watch worth more than 60 million VND was broken, threatened, and then demanded compensation for the damage. In just 10 days, Minh and Duc successfully carried out 6 cases, appropriating 25 taels of gold and more than 30 million VND.
