Although not located in the center of Vinh city, Quan Bau ward has many black spots of traffic insecurity that cause frustration for residents, including on National Highway 1A.
Below are images of some traffic black spots in Quan Bau ward, Vinh city, recorded by Nghe An Newspaper reporters on the afternoon of March 10, 2025.
The most pressing traffic congestion problem in Quan Bau ward is at lane 2 Ngo Gia Tu street. Photo: Nhat LanLane 2 is the only entrance and exit for more than 500 households living in 2 Kim Thi apartment buildings (block 1, Quan Bau ward) and 1 kindergarten. According to residents' feedback (confirmed by the People's Committee of Quan Bau ward), during the planning phase of the apartment building, there will be an additional exit on Phan Boi Chau street. However, when households move into the apartment building, there is only one exit at Lane 2, Ngo Gia Tu street. Photo: Vo HaiLiving in lane 2, Ms. Le Thi Suu said that lane 2 Ngo Gia Tu street is often crowded and congested due to the large number of people and vehicles coming and going, especially in the early morning and late afternoon. Ms. Le Thi Suu said: "These two apartment buildings have about 500 households and there is also a kindergarten, so traffic is very complicated. I think if a fire breaks out, what will we do...". Regarding the People's Committee of Quan Bau ward, it said that in order to reduce the congestion at lane 2 Ngo Gia Tu street, the ward has proposed to the People's Committee of Vinh city to install traffic lights and prohibit left turns by the hour. Photo: Vo HaiClose to lane 2 is the intersection between Phan Boi Chau Street and Ngo Gia Tu Street and Hoang Xuan Han Street. Due to the large traffic volume but no traffic lights, drivers always face difficulties and are at risk of being unsafe, especially during rush hours. Therefore, the People's Committee of Quan Bau Ward proposed that the People's Committee of Vinh City consider installing a traffic light system at this intersection. Photo: Nhat LanThe intersection of Ngo Gia Tu and Nguyen Canh Hoan streets in Quan Bau ward has been equipped with traffic lights. However, these are two level roads, and the traffic lights often malfunction, posing a safety risk to road users. Photo: Nhat LanIt is known that the traffic lights at the intersection between Ngo Gia Tu and Nguyen Canh Hoan streets use solar energy, so they depend on the weather. When the weather is not sunny, they do not operate stably. Therefore, the People's Committee of Quan Bau Ward has requested the City People's Committee to direct the functional units to renovate and repair them. Photo: Nhat LanAccording to Mr. Pham Duc Tho - Vice Chairman of Quan Bau Ward People's Committee, Quan Bau Ward still has many black spots causing traffic insecurity such as at alley 2, Ngo Gia Tu Street; the intersection of Ngo Gia Tu Street with Nguyen Canh Hoan Street; the intersection between Bui Duong Lich Street and Ho Ba Kien Street; alley 98 Ngo Gia Tu Street; the intersection of 72m road with Ngo Gia Tu Street; on National Highway 1A... Frustrated with the traffic insecurity situation, voters in the area have repeatedly expressed their opinions at meetings with voters of People's Councils at all levels; on the side of the Ward People's Committee, they have also reported to Vinh City People's Committee many times. On February 13, 2025, Quan Bau Ward People's Committee also reviewed black spots causing traffic insecurity, clarified the causes leading to their existence to propose a number of solutions to Vinh City People's Committee through Report No. 77/BC-UBND.
