The three suspects used prepared weapons to control the homeowner, but were fiercely resisted. With the help of neighbors and local police, two robbers were subdued on the spot. A few hours later, the police arrested the remaining robber while he was on the run about 40 km from Son La city.
That same evening, a representative of the Son La City Police said this was the biggest gold shop robbery in the area. Initially, three suspects were identified as being from Phu Tho province, with the leader having a criminal record. The group had been in the city for the past three days to assess the situation and monitor the gold and silver shops.
At the scene, one side of the store's glass door was shattered due to the collision between the two sides. The group's car was also confiscated by the police.
The police are protecting the scene and clarifying the case.
