Nghe An Navy Traditional Liaison Committee celebrates 59 years since Vietnam Navy won the first battle
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 5, in Vinh city, the Traditional Liaison Committee of Nghe An Province Navy held a meeting to celebrate the 59th anniversary of the Vietnam Navy's first victory (August 5, 1964 - August 5, 2023).

Traditional liaisonNavyNghe An province was formed from the Nghe Tinh region Naval Veterans Traditional Association. Accordingly, from August 2018, the Nghe Tinh Naval Traditional Association was split and established separately in 2 provinces.
The Nghe Province Navy Traditional Liaison Committee has 567 members who are former officers, professional soldiers, defense workers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers who have worked at agencies and units of the Navy through the ages. Currently, the members are active in 12 Navy Traditional Liaison Committees of cities, districts, and towns in the province.

Over the past 5 years (since its establishment), the Nghe An Province Navy Traditional Liaison Committee has focused on improving the organization; building solidarity and unity; and doing a good job of visiting, encouraging and building gratitude houses for 9 comrades and teammates with difficult housing circumstances.
The members of the liaison committee have always demonstrated the “Quality of Uncle Ho’s soldiers - Navy soldiers” in the new conditions, actively developing the family economy; doing a good job of educating the younger generation about traditions; and actively contributing to the development of the locality where they live.

In the coming time, the Nghe An Provincial Navy Traditional Liaison Committee will continue to promote activities of visiting, encouraging, giving gifts and building gratitude houses for veterans and former naval soldiers in difficult circumstances; making positive contributions to building the province increasingly prosperous.
During the meeting, members of the Nghe An Province Navy Traditional Liaison Committee reviewed the heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Navy, especially the victory in the first battle to repel the US destroyer USS Ma-doc 59 years ago; and presented gifts to wounded and sick soldiers./.
