Nghe An highland village uses lamps to level ground to build houses for the poor

These days, people of Coi village, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district are working day and night to level the ground and repair houses for the poor and people with revolutionary contributions.

Coi village, Luong Minh commune (Tuong Duong) is home to the Khmu ethnic group. The whole village has 139 households, with 687 people. Most of the people here live on farming and forestry on the fields. People's lives are facing many difficulties. According to statistics in 2025, Coi village has 41 poor households and people with revolutionary contributions who are supported to build houses. To help poor households soon have a new, solid and spacious house to live in, in recent days, people in the village have been working day and night to level the ground. Photo: Dinh Tuan

To speed up the process of eliminating dilapidated and makeshift houses for the poor and those with revolutionary contributions, the Party cell and management board of Coi village, Luong Minh commune mobilized people to contribute working days, support poor households in leveling the ground, transporting raw materials... Realizing that Mr. Vi Van Mai's family in Coi village was in a particularly difficult situation, and the house was short of people, the villagers, at least one person per house, brought their own tools such as hoes, shovels, crowbars, etc. to join in supporting. This activity also had the contribution of forces such as the Youth Union, Police, Veterans, etc. Comrade Ngo Tri Dat (third person from right to left) - Deputy Head of Luong Minh Commune Police shared: "Knowing that the people of Coi village joined hands to help Mr. Mai's family level the ground to make the house foundation, the commune police also sent some comrades to join with the people. Mr. Cut Van Vinh - Secretary of the Coi village Party Cell, Luong Minh commune said: "Coi village is one of the villages with many households supported to build houses, so the workload is quite large, both to complete the progress according to plan and not affect the production of the people, the government and the people agreed to mobilize at least one person from each household to help level the ground. Then, we divided into 2 groups, 1 group worked during the day, 1 group worked at night and took turns. This method was agreed upon by the people and they participated very fully.
