Two sisters arrested for hoarding firecrackers to sell during Tet
(Baonghean.vn) - Wanting to make a profit from selling firecrackers, two sisters living in Pan village, Chau Ly commune (Quy Hop) gathered together to store firecrackers to sell during the Lunar New Year. However, before they could sell them, they were caught red-handed by the police.
On January 11, information from Quy Hop District Police said: The unit has just discovered and caught Cao Van Thong (born in 1980), residing in Pan village, Chau Ly commune, in the act of possessing a package containing colorful spherical firecrackers, each with a blue string and a cubic box wrapped in colorful paper with foreign letters printed on it.

Thong admitted that the above firecrackers were taken from his biological mother's house, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Diep (living in the same village). Based on Thong's statement, the investigation agency of Quy Hop District Police executed a search warrant at the residence of Cao Thi Hoa (1974), residing in Pan village, Thong's older sister. Thereby, they discovered and confiscated in the kitchen a sack containing firecrackers.
The total weight of various types of fireworks that Hoa and Thong sisters stored was 16 kg. Expanding the investigation, Quy Hop police also seized 100 dangerous children's toy guns at Thong's home.

According to the initial confession of the subjects, the above amount of firecrackers were purchased from a stranger in the area and divided into small pieces and hidden at Hoa and Thong's mother's house in Pan village to consume and use during the Lunar New Year Canh Ty.
Currently, Quy Hop District Police are continuing to investigate and handle the subjects according to the provisions of law.
