Authorities arrested five suspects in a drug trafficking ring. The seized evidence included 72 heroin bricks and two cars.

On October 2, at the border area of ​​Bolikhamxay province (Laos), the forces of the Department of Drug and Crime Prevention and Control (PCMT&TP) of the Border Guard coordinated with the PCMT Police Department under the General Department of Police, Ministry of Security (Laos) and the Hua Phan Provincial Security Department to arrest 5 subjects and seize 69 heroin cakes on the spot.

Expanding the investigation, the police seized 3 more heroin cakes, bringing the total number of seized exhibits to 72 heroin cakes and 2 cars.

The arrested subjects include: Thao Chao Po Ly, (35 years old, residing in Xay Cha Lon, Huoi Sai district); Thao Cheng Ho, (36 years old, residing in Don That village, Ton Phan district, Bo Keo province); Thao Cheng Va, (36 years old, residing in Phon Kham village, Ha Pha Bat district, Bo Ly Kham Xay province); Po Vang, (29 years old, residing in Thon Ma Nhi village, Nam Bat district, Luong Pha Bang province) and Thong Van (34 years old, residing in Don That, Ton Phon district, Bo Keo province, Laos).

The subjects confessed that the above drugs were gathered to be transported to Hua Phan province and then brought to Vietnam for consumption.

The investigation force has handed over the suspect and evidence to the Lao police force and is continuing to coordinate and expand the investigation.
