Driver arrested for transporting 310 kg of fireworks from abroad to Nghe An for sale
(Baonghean.vn) - The police seized 250 fireworks of 36 pieces each, weighing 310 kg, from Nguyen Van Dai's car. Conducting an emergency search of the suspect's residence in Dien Ky commune (Dien Chau), the task force seized an additional 10,000 fireworks weighing 20 kg.
On July 22, Dien Chau District Police said that the unit is temporarily detaining Nguyen Van Dai (born in 1984), residing in Mau Lam Commune, Nhu Thanh District, Thanh Hoa Province, for the act of trading in prohibited goods.
Taking advantage of his job as a long-distance driver, the subject used a pickup truck to transport 310 kg of firecrackers from abroad to Nghe An for sale.

Previously, Dien Chau District Police discovered a ring illegally transporting firecrackers from Laos to Dien Chau District. Nguyen Van Dai was an important “link”. He took advantage of his job as a bus driver to Laos to transport firecrackers to Vietnam to sell for profit.
After a period of closely following the subject's movements, at about 18:50 on July 21, 2022, in village 7, Dien Ky commune, Dien Chau district, Dien Chau district police arrested Nguyen Van Dai for trading in prohibited goods; seized in Nguyen Van Dai's car 250 fireworks of 36 pieces, total weight 310 kg.
Conducting an emergency search of the suspect's residence in Dien Ky commune, the task force seized an additional 10,000 firecrackers weighing a total of 20 kg.
Currently, Dien Chau District Police are continuing to expand the investigation.
