Arrested "super thief" who specializes in stealing motorbikes from people in public places

On August 5, Thai Hoa Town Police said they were temporarily detaining Nguyen Duc Phuc (born in 1983, residing in Hamlet 11, Dien Doai Commune, Dien Chau District) to clarify the act of property theft.

Since the beginning of July 2018, Thai Hoa Town Police have continuously received reports from people about their motorbikes being stolen. Specifically, in Hoa Hieu Ward, people reported that 4 motorbikes were stolen, 1 motorbike in Long Son Ward, 1 motorbike in Quang Tien Ward and 1 motorbike in Dong Hieu Commune.

After investigation and surveillance, at 11:30 a.m. on August 4, Thai Hoa Town Police caught Nguyen Duc Phuc (born in 1983, residing in Hamlet 11, Dien Doai Commune, Dien Chau District) in the act of stealing a motorbike in Hamlet 8, Nghia Thuan Commune, Thai Hoa Town.

At the investigation agency, Nguyen Duc Phuc confessed that from the beginning of July 2018 until the day of his arrest, he had successfully committed 7 thefts and stolen 7 motorbikes in Thai Hoa town.

Phuc's trick was to take a bus from Dien Chau district to Thai Hoa town, get off the bus and wander around the inner city areas, taking advantage of people's carelessness and inattention, the subject approached and used a homemade clamp to break the lock. In just 3-4 seconds, Phuc was able to open the lock and get on the bus straight to Dien Chau, then sell it in the province and bring it to the South.

Currently, Thai Hoa town police have seized 2 vehicles that the subject stole and continue to expand the investigation, searching for the remaining vehicles.
