Arrested thief who slashed and injured homeowner couple
On September 16, Hai Duong Provincial Police announced that they had arrested a suspect who attacked a couple in Hai Duong, killing one and seriously injuring the other.
Previously, at around 10 p.m. on September 15, Ms. Nguyen Thi T. (born in 1959) smelled alcohol on the first floor, so she opened the door to the wine room to check. Suddenly, a person inside rushed in and repeatedly slashed Ms. T.'s arms and back. Hearing his wife's screams, Mr. Nguyen Tuan K. (born in 1960) ran over and was also slashed many times in the head and stomach by the stranger.
After the incident, Ms. T. and Mr. K. were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. At 11:40 a.m. on September 16, Mr. K. died at Viet Duc Hospital due to severe blood loss and many dangerous injuries to the head and abdomen. Ms. T. is being treated at Hai Duong General Hospital. Although she has passed the critical stage, her health is weak due to severe blood loss.

On the evening of September 15, upon receiving a report of a serious crime, Gia Loc District Police and the Criminal Police Department of Hai Duong Province Police entered the case. Based on the evidence collected at the crime scene, Hai Duong Province Police identified the suspect as Ho Si Tan. During the screening process, in the early morning of September 16, Hai Duong Province Police arrested Tan while he was hiding in Hai Duong City.
Initially, the police identified: Tan was an employee of an agency in Gia Loc district. Due to debt, the subject had the intention of committing a theft. After observing, the subject broke into the house of Mr. K. and Mrs. T. with the purpose of stealing property. During the theft, Tan was discovered by the victim's family, causing the tragic crime above.
The case is currently being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
