A young man who pulled out a knife and assaulted a traffic police officer on duty in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province, has been detained.

On the evening of December 31, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Ky - Chief of Nha Trang City Police (Khanh Hoa) said that the young man who opposed and assaulted a traffic police officer who was directing traffic that afternoon had been arrested.
According to the leader of the Traffic Police Team of Nha Trang City Police, this young man is Nguyen Xuan Sang, 22 years old, residing at Group 8, Thap Ba Street, Vinh Phuoc Ward, Nha Trang City.

According to the leader of the Nha Trang Traffic Police, at 5:00 p.m. on December 31, while regulating traffic at the intersection at the beginning of Le Hong Phong Street (Nha Trang), near the train crossing, the Traffic Police officer of this team discovered Nguyen Xuan Sang driving a motorbike carrying a woman sitting behind from A.Yersin Street turning onto Le Hong Phong Street, both of them not wearing helmets.
When stopped for processing, Sang drove his car into a traffic police officer, then got out of the car to assault and resist the officer on duty in order to block the road so that the woman sitting behind could drive away.
When Sang was seen taking out a knife from his pocket to fight against the traffic police, passersby nearby helped to arrest the young offender, his vehicle and the people involved.
Nha Trang Traffic Police Team has made a record of the violator, resisting law enforcement officers and transferred him to the Criminal Police Team for temporary detention for investigation and handling.
