(Baonghean.vn) - After being transferred to the National Burn Hospital, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dong (47 years old), residing in Khanh Son commune (Nam Dan), had to have both necrotic arms amputated.

According to the victim's family, on the afternoon of June 21, Ms. Dong was drying clothes at a family's house in Hamlet 2, Nghi An Commune (Vinh City) when she was electrocuted, causing severe burns.

After being taken to Nghe An General Hospital for emergency treatment by her relatives, Ms. Dong was transferred to the National Burn Hospital (Hanoi). Due to severe burns, both arms were necrotic and could not be saved, so the doctor ordered amputation to save her life.

At noon on June 22, Ms. Dong had both arms amputated (one arm cut near the armpit, one arm cut above the elbow). Currently, the victim's health is stable, she is conscious, and can talk to people around her.

It is known that Ms. Dong has a very difficult family situation. She alone works to support the whole family. Her two children are still young (the first is 10 years old, the second is 7 years old). Her husband - Mr. Ta Quang Than has a herniated disc and cannot do heavy work, he only stays at home to take the children to school. There is also an elderly mother-in-law in the house.

Due to difficult circumstances, to earn extra income to cover family expenses, take care of her children's education, and treat her husband's illness, she has recently worked as a housekeeper for a family in Vinh City.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam - an acquaintance of Ms. Dong's family shared: "As the breadwinner of the family, with young children and a difficult family situation, what can she do now that both arms are amputated? What will her family life be like? Looking at the picture of her with both arms amputated, I can't hold back my tears."

From the National Burn Hospital, lying on her hospital bed, Ms. Dong shared her worries: Having both arms amputated, not only is she worried about the long-term and expensive treatment costs, after recovering, her biggest worry is who will work for her to support her family when her children are still young and her husband is sick...

In order to share the difficult situation of Ms. Dong's family, after learning about the incident, some volunteer groups and fellow countrymen's associations called on everyone and benefactors to join hands in donating money to help her have more money for treatment.
