According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather in the North and Central Central regions during the exam period from June 24 to 27 will continue to be extremely hot with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 37-40 degrees Celsius, with some places over 40 degrees Celsius. On June 24 to 25, the heat will be milder, with thunderstorms in some places in the evening. The coastal provinces of the South Central region will be hot with the average temperature ranging from 34-37 degrees Celsius. The Central Highlands and the South will also experience hot weather during the day.
The heat and humidity will affect the mood and physical condition of candidates. According to the 2019 National High School Exam schedule of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates will arrive at the exam room at 2:00 p.m. on June 24 to complete the exam procedures. On the exam days of June 25-27, the exam paper distribution time will start at 7:30 a.m. in the morning and 2:30 p.m. in the afternoon. Candidates must be present at the exam room at least 15 minutes before the exam paper distribution time. It is estimated that after the morning exam, candidates will leave the exam room at around 10-11 a.m. and in the afternoon at around 3-4 p.m. These are the peak hot and humid times of the day, causing discomfort and fatigue for candidates and their parents.
Below are some simple but very useful tips for the high school exam, so that the 12 years of studying of candidates and parents do not "go down the drain".
Drink enough water
To effectively cope with the heat and help the body feel most comfortable in hot weather, the first and simplest thing that candidates need to pay attention to is to drink enough water. Drink more fruit juice, milk and green tea (which are rich in antioxidants) to provide enough water for the body. Form the habit of drinking water many times a day, do not drink too much water at once.

Drinking enough water and keeping your body hydrated is especially important to cope with hot, humid weather. |
Many students drink coffee to stay alert and stay up late studying. However, caffeine is a diuretic and consuming too much can make you jittery. You only need a moderate amount of caffeine, 400-450mg per day, which is equivalent to 2-2.5 cups of coffee.
Wear a hat and sun protection shirt.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Thuong - Director of the Central Dermatology Hospital, sun-protective clothing, wide-brimmed hats and sunglasses are effective, inexpensive mechanical sun protection measures that anyone can do.
Equipped with mini fan
Bringing a mini handheld fan is also a suggestion. Especially for parents who are always waiting outside the exam room in the hot and humid weather. Besides always bringing a water bottle, hat, sunscreen and finding shade, bringing a fan is also very necessary.
