Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary visits and works in Vientiane province (Laos)

The delegation included members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Le Duc Cuong - Head of the Provincial Party Organization Committee; Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Propaganda Department; members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Dinh Hung - Chief of the Provincial Party Office; Pham Hong Quang - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment; Trinh Thanh Hai - Director of the Department of Finance; Colonel Nguyen Cong Luc - Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command. Also attending were comrade Tran Khanh Thuc - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and representatives of the Department of Tourism.

Welcoming and working with the delegation were comrade Khamphan Sitthidampha - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary, Governor of Vientiane province and other provincial leaders.

Vientiane Province is located in northwestern Laos, with an area of ​​15,927 km²70 km north of Vientiane Capital. Over the years, Nghe An and Vientiane provinces have had valuable cooperation and support; in particular, Vientiane province has actively supported the Collection Team of Nghe An province, searching, collecting and collecting the remains of 57 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who died in the province.

At the same time, the province actively propagated and mobilized people from all walks of life to provide information about martyrs' burial places; sent cadres familiar with the terrain to participate in activities with the Nghe An Provincial Collection Team to protect, guide, contact local people and resolve related issues in performing tasks.

From 2017 to present, Nghe An province has granted full scholarships to a total of 85 students from Vientiane province to study Vietnamese and major at university level at colleges and universities in the province; thereby, contributing to supporting human resource development for Vientiane province.

Activities of visiting relatives, exchanging information, sending congratulatory messages on holidays, Tet, and important historical events of the two countries and two provinces are maintained regularly.

Comrade Khamphan Sitthidampha - Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary, Governor of Vientiane province expressed his pleasure to welcome Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and the high-ranking delegation of Nghe An province to visit; highly appreciated the significance of the working trip in continuing to build and develop the relationship between the two sides.

On behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy expressed his joy at coming to Vientiane province, meeting again with comrade Khamphan Sitthidampha and the provincial leaders after the meeting at the ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty on August 17, 2022 in Vinh city.

The head of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee respectfully sent the best wishes to the leaders of Vientiane province; expressed his gratitude for the thoughtful and warm welcome given to the delegation; congratulated the new developments of the province; thanked them for sharing and supporting Nghe An in the past time, especially in the work of searching, collecting and gathering the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who died in Laos.

The support of Vientiane province is extremely meaningful, making the value and sacrifice for national independence of the two peoples and two countries of Vietnam and Laos even more honored and affirmed on the path of development today.

Although the time of the high-ranking delegation of Nghe An province visiting and working in Vientiane province was not long, the Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee shared that the working trip brought with it many emotions, multiplying the solidarity and traditional friendship between Nghe An province and Vientiane province.

Believing that Vientiane province will have new developments, especially with its favorable geographical location and the Central Government's investment in synchronous and modern transport infrastructure, the head of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee hopes that in the coming time, the two provinces will continue to support and cooperate to jointly promote the conditions of each locality, especially in the fields of economy, trade, education, training; ... thereby, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, contributing to the common development of the two countries; further consolidating the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Secretary and Governor of Vientiane Province Khamphan Sitthidampha agreed with the proposals of the Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee; at the same time, he had more confidence in the socio-economic situation, national defense and security work of the province; thereby, he hoped that more Nghe An enterprises would invest in the province, especially in the tourism sector; at the same time, he would support and help the province apply science and technology to agricultural production, to improve the productivity and quality of agricultural and forestry products; continue to train human resources for the province...

Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy wished Vientiane province further development; at the same time, agreed that Nghe An will strengthen cooperation in all fields between the two provinces, especially tourism.

Also at the meeting, in a friendly and cordial atmosphere, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy and Vientiane Provincial Party Secretary and Governor Khamphan Sitthidampha reviewed the traditional, close, and special friendship between Laos and Vietnam, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane and previous generations of leaders. The leaders of Nghe An and Vientiane provinces consider this a valuable asset that needs to be preserved and developed, contributing to fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos; Laos and Vietnam to increasingly blossom and bear fruit.
