Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh congratulates Vietnamese Doctors' Day

On the occasion of the 64th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2019), a delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee led by Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation visited and presented gifts to the staff, doctors, and nurses of Nghe An Oncology Hospital. Accompanying the delegation were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, and the Department of Health.

Nghe An Oncology Hospital was established in 2010, currently has 133 doctors, 25 pharmacists; 292 nurses, technicians and 102 other staff. The hospital has 27 departments, rooms and centers and is in the process of adding 4 more departments and rooms.

Total number of actual hospital beds is 850/550 planned hospital beds. Average inpatient flow is 800 - 850 patients/day; outpatients are over 6,000. Hospital bed occupancy rate is over 150%.

The hospital has currently performed 794 central-level techniques, including many difficult and complex techniques. It is expected that the Radiation Therapy Center will be operational by the end of March 2019.

Presenting flowers and congratulating the staff, doctors and nurses of Nghe An Oncology Hospital, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh highly appreciated the successes that the hospital has achieved in the past year. Although conditions are still very difficult and lacking, with the efforts of the staff, doctors and nurses, the hospital has excellently completed its tasks.

Emphasizing the responsibility of the health sector for medical examination and treatment for the people, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the hospital to continue training and improving the skills of the medical staff, and at the same time constantly innovate the spirit and attitude of serving patients.

The hospital needs to attract high-quality human resources; strengthen international cooperation to continue to apply many advanced techniques, new techniques, and difficult techniques to medical examination and treatment; pay attention to increasing investment in developing facilities, promoting the application of information technology in medical examination and treatment, and hospital management.

In particular, the hospital needs to promote socialization and attract investors interested in developing the hospital to not only serve the people of Nghe An but also serve patients in the entire North Central region.

The Provincial Party Secretary noted that the health sector should pay attention to doing a good job of propaganda so that people can do a good job of ensuring food hygiene and safety, disease prevention is better than cure, especially diseases related to cancer.
