Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh hopes for a wave of Japanese investment in Nghe An

Japanese businessmen are showing more interest in Nghe An.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh warmly welcomed the ambassador and the delegation to visit and work in Nghe An - the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh emphasized that the Conference “Meeting Japan - North Central Region 2019” and the Conference “Meeting Nghe An - Japan: Cooperation and Development” on April 25 and 26 in Vinh City, organized by the People's Committee of Nghe An province in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, took place at a very meaningful time.
In 2019, Nghe An, together with the whole country, celebrated the 50th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's Testament and prepared to celebrate the 130th anniversary of his birth in 2020; as well as preparing for the term of Party congresses at all levels.
In particular, Nghe An is actively implementing the contents according to President Ho Chi Minh's instructions in his last letter to the Party Committee and people of the province on July 21, 1969. Nghe An is striving to become one of the best localities in the country.

Therefore, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh especially thanked Mr. Umeda Kunio and the delegation for supporting Nghe An and other Vietnamese provinces, not only economically but also as a spiritual motivation for the province to strive to rise up.
The Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee affirmed: The friendly cooperation at the local level between the two countries in general, Nghe An and some provinces and organizations of Japan is going very well.
In particular, Japanese ODA projects in Nghe An are being implemented on schedule. Attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) from Japan to Nghe An is showing many positive signs. Japanese businessmen are also paying more attention to Nghe An in the fields of industry and trade.
“We have taken greater steps in promoting investment in Nghe An,” Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh affirmed, expressing hope for an investment wave from Japanese investors in Nghe An.
Informing that Nghe An's export turnover to Japan has only reached over 22 million USD and imports over 13 million USD, Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh affirmed that with the support of JICA, Nghe An is improving the quality of agricultural products, trying to meet the conditions to export to the Japanese market.
In the field of labor, Nghe An and Japan have a relatively close relationship. Nghe An accounts for a fairly large proportion compared to other provinces and cities in Vietnam in terms of labor exported to Japan.
Nghe An is also coordinating with a number of Japanese companies to select Nghe An labor resources to train and supply to Japanese enterprises.

Based on the results of cooperation in recent times, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh proposed to continue strengthening cooperation in all fields, especially wishing to promote more effective cooperation in the fields of tourism, education and health.
“These areas are very important to Nghe An and the North Central region,” Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh emphasized, hoping that the ambassador will continue to support and help develop cooperative relations between Nghe An and Japanese partners.
At the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh also proposed a number of contents for the Japanese side to consider cooperation, including hoping that the Japanese side would support capital to implement the Cua Lo Port breakwater project, which has been approved in principle by the Vietnamese Government, to resolve one of the province's biggest difficulties, which is the poor seaport system; and support capital to build Nghe An Oncology Hospital if the National Assembly and the Vietnamese Government agree in principle.
Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh hopes that the ambassador, with his influence and relationships, will have a voice calling on non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to have appropriate forms to support Nghe An in socio-economic development.
Japanese government is closely reviewing the highway project.
Hanoi - Vientiane
Japanese Ambassador Umeda Kunio sincerely thanked Nghe An province for coordinating the organization of the Conference "Meeting Japan - North Central Region 2019" and the Conference "Meeting Nghe An - Japan: Cooperation and Development".
The ambassador also believes in the province's development direction and is particularly impressed by Nghe An's PAPI index, which ranks 4th in the country.

Mr. Umeda Kunio said that Japanese enterprises are currently looking to invest in Nghe An and have also discussed some specific recommendations to convey to the province.
Assessing that Nghe An is growing well and believing in the province's development potential, Mr. Umeda Kunio said that the North-South high-speed railway and road system, when completed, will be a driving force to promote investment and tourism for Nghe An.
The Japanese Ambassador added that, based on the request of the Vietnamese and Lao Governments, the Japanese Government is carefully considering the Hanoi - Vientiane expressway project.
Ambassador Umeda Kunio also discussed a number of issues related to the province's proposals on infrastructure investment capital, cooperation in education, health care, and tourism.

In particular, the Ambassador hopes that Nghe An will coordinate with Japan to strengthen the management of study abroad and labor export companies to ensure the rights of international students and workers working in Japan.
At the end of the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh thanked the Ambassador and the delegation for their support, and hoped that in the coming time, the friendly and cooperative relationship between Nghe An and Japan will continue to develop in all fields.
